Roma one step away from signing Andrea Belotti : Lorenzo Pellegrini spoke with him
Roma boss Jose Mourinho is going rampant this summer as he looks to reinforce his squad for the attack ahead of the 2022-2023 Italian campaign amid Georginio Wijnaldum talks.
The player who has been eyed up to strengthen AS Roma next season is Italian striker Andrea Belotti who is currently on a free transfer.
While working on closing a deal for Wijnaldum, Mourinho is also putting up a plan to add to his firepower. Despite landing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer, the Roma boss wants to get his hand on another forward at his disposal next season.
Belotti, who completes his seven-year at Torino this summer, has ended up on Mourinho’s shortlist. Despite being wanted by Valencia and Villareal the 28-year-old would like to stay in his homeland, giving Roma the upper hand over the English sides.
However, It is said that Roma need to offload Eldor Shomurudov before taking further action towards the Italian striker. Once Eldor Shomurodov’s rumored transfer to Bologna goes through, Belotti will become Roma’s transfer priority.
Belotti is reportedly asking for €3.5 in wages as Roma continue to be deemed favorites in the race.
As per calciomercato.com, Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini has reached out to his fellow Italian international. The two have discussed the possibility of playing together in the Italian capital.
